My name is Gaétan, I’m from France, and I’ve been living in Estonia for four years now. Since I was very little, I’ve been passionate about sport of any kind — basketball above all, which I’ve played in competition for 25 years. As a kid, my dream was to become a professional player. But as a teenager, when I started testing for a higher level, the coaches would say I was “not strong enough,” “too skinny,” “not athletic enough.” What they couldn’t see was the one quality I did have: consistency and perseverance.
Because of those words, I unconsciously followed the safest path — studying. I graduated from an engineering school in France and started working as a construction site manager, building the new metro station in Paris. I loved the job, but it was too much stress, too many responsibilities, too many hours. Living and working in Paris, it felt like I could never give a rest to my body or my mind.
My very first contact with the cold went back earlier, to my Erasmus in Poland, during a trip to Lapland — going back and forth between the sauna and the freezing water. Stepping into that ice-cold water, I felt something very unique: a mix of fear, power, and calm. I didn’t fully understand it then, but afterward I felt incredibly good. I think that’s what planted a seed inside me.
That seed grew when my partner and I moved to Tallinn. Everything felt slower. I spent more time in nature, more time with myself — and as if by magic, right when we arrived, a friend told me about the Wim Hof Method. I started simple: cold showers, breathing. It unlocked a door. Little by little, it brought me energy, calm, confidence, better sleep, a stronger immune system. It helped me transform stress into strength, and disconnection into connection.
The breathing class is open to everyone. Whether you are not sure you want to join a fundamentals workshop yet or you want to keep your practice going.
When I lived in Paris, I was stressed all the time, without any tools to rest, to relax, or to actually regulate my nervous system. When I found the Wim Hof Method, it gave me exactly that — and now I want to give those same tools to other people.
So many people are scared to even try, held back by old beliefs: “the cold is not for me,” “it’s not my thing,” “it looks a bit weird.” I want to break those beliefs and show people the real potential they already have within their own body.
By regulating one’s nervous system it is possible to gain numerous health benefits not only for the body, but also for the mind. Better focus, clearer mind and greater sense of joy are the qualities so many of us are missing today.
Everything is already inside us, and inside all of us — no exceptions.
I’ve been there
I spent years in the high-pressure, hyper-responsible world of Parisian construction management. I know exactly what burnout feels like, because I survived it. I don’t just teach the method — I’m a product of it.
Athletic grit
As an advanced instructor with 25 years of competitive basketball behind me, I understand how the body performs and recovers. I bridge the gap between athletic conditioning and mental stillness.
A grounded, human approach
A Frenchman sharing these tools in Estonia, I bring a warm, deeply human energy to a country that already respects nature — helping locals and expats see their own cold and sauna through a new lens.
My approach is professional and human, with no miraculous promises. No wellness gimmicks, no shortcuts, and no toxic positivity — just simple, science-backed tools, safe professional guidance, and the practical knowledge you need to control your own stress response. You’ll leave knowing how to use your breath and the cold on your own.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me playing basketball, running, biking or swimming, spending time in nature or with friends, reading, or behind a camera filming and editing video.
The best way to understand the method is to feel it for yourself.
Here we learn about the 3 pillars of the method: breathing, cold exposure, and mindset. No previous experience is needed, only curiosity and an open mind.
The breathing class is open to everyone, whether you are not sure if you want to join a fundamentals workshop yet or you simply want to keep your practice going.
The advanced workshop is dedicated for the people who have already participated in a fundamentals workshop (with me or any other instructor in the world).
